Leszek Bryja is associate Professor at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology at Department of Experimental Physics. He has been involved in optical studies of two dimensional structures in low temperatures and quantizing magnetic fields, especially in the investigation of many body effects in GaAs/AlGaAs quantum wells. His current research interest concerns the physics of strictly two dimensional structures of transition metal dichalcogenides such as MoSe2, WSe2, ReSe2,MoS2, WS2, RS2, and their alloys. This atomically thin materials have attracted significant attention due to the discovery of the indirect-to-direct bandgap transition and strong spin-orbit coupling, leading to valley contrasting spin splitting of conduction and valence band, very attractive for optoelectronic applications. He is an author or co-author of more than 100 scientific publications in high rank international journals as Physical Review B, Applied Physics Letters and Solid State Communication.
